What are the prizes for the Championships on Sunday?

A list of the prizes for these events will appear here shortly.  All the prizes will be supplied by the Traders attending Grand Prix Bochum.  

How many Lucky Dip Envelopes can I win?

For all of the Lucky Dip championships there are two envelopes available for the winner and 1 for second place.  The 2HG champions will receive 1 pack each.  In the 16-Player Lucky Dip pick up events both the winner and runner-up will receive 1 pack each.  This is in addition to the normal booster payout.

Legacy and Vintage

The players demanded it and here it is.  You can now play Legacy on both Saturday and Sunday.  Add to that the Vintage event taking place on Saturday and that should keep most Eternal players busy for the weekend.  

But that’s not all!

Throughout the Grand Prix, both Legacy and Vintage will be running as pick up events.  Just sign up with the public event scorekeepers and, as soon as we have 8 players, we’ll start your tournament.

Return to Ravnica Team Sealed

You may have seen this great format showcased recently at the World Magic Cup.  Just like normal sealed but with teams of three working together.  

Grand Melee

Not everyone wants to be competitive all of the time.  For those wishing to experience a more relaxed pace, why not try our Grand Melee event.  With all the players playing in the same game and multiple people playing at the same time, it should be fast, frenetic and fun.  Attacking only to the left, you can win boosters by killing other players before the person to your right kills you.  How many scalps will you collect?

Artist’s at Grand Prix Bochum

Born in 1979 in Gdansk, Poland Slawomir Maniak has been an artist for about ten yours.  Not only does he regularly contribute artwork to Magic: The Gathering but he also designs figures for various other games.

Eric is both a sci-fi/fantasy illustrator and a video game concept artist. He started his career as a professional artist with Magic the Gathering. Since then Eric has painted over 50 cards for Magic such as Vampire Hexmage, Venser the Sojourner, Jin Gitaxias, Mirran Crusader, Garruk Relentless and Tamiyo, and the Moon Sage. In 2011 Eric designed the visual look of the main character Dack Fayden for the Magic the Gathering comic book and painted a cover for the first issue. For the past ten years Eric has worked with a diverse list of clients including publishing, video game and advertising companies such as Activision, Bayard-Presse, Blizzard Entertainment, Big Huge Games, Petroglyph Games, Sony Online Entertainment, TBWA/Chiat/Day and Wizards of the Coast. His work has been recognized in 4 volumes of “Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art,” including the 2012 edition which will publish later this year. Eric lives with his wife and daughter in Gardiner NY, USA.

Sleep in Special

This is one of the most requested services that we add to European Grand Prix.  And we intend to implement it over the next few Grand Prix events as part of our VIP programme.  However, so that you can make use of this service now we are including it here, in a limited way.  If you would like to purchase this extra service you will be able to buy it at any time during registration on Friday.

The service will cost €15 for this event and means that you do not need to arrive at the venue until the first round in which you will play.  So if you have 3 rounds of Byes, you need to be in the venue to start round 4.

IMPORTANT:  You must submit your final deck list at the same time that you buy this service.  Decklists can be downloaded by clicking here.

The Richard Hagon Game Show

Richard Hagon, star of the Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour coverage, will be attending Grand Prix Bochum.  And he has a little quiz for you.  Get a team of your friends together to take part in the FREE TO ENTER Richard Hagon Game Show.  Pit your wits against Richard’s fiendish questions and see if you can defeat all of the other teams in this frenetic and fun event.

We’ll have cool Magic: The Gathering prizes to give away as well as boosters so you have every reason to try and be the best when it comes to Magic trivia.

Caricaturist

And yet there is still more!  Renowned artist, Justin Wyatt will be joining the team for Grand Priz Bochum.  If you would like a Caricature picture of yourself to remember the event, he will happily oblige.  Each original caricature will cost only €8 and will be  a great memento to take home from the event.

Standard

As Magic: The Gathering’s most popular constructed format, you will find plenty of Standard events happening throughout the weekend.  If the main event isn’t enough to quell your appetite you might want to try the 8 player pick up events happening all weekend long.  You can also play in Standard Championships on both Saturday and Sunday.

Return to Ravnica Drafts

If limited is more your ‘thing’ then enrol yourself in one of our Return to Ravnica l8 player pick up drafts.  These will run across the entire weekend and will start approximately every 40 minutes.

Half Price Events on Saturday Morning

Obviously we want you all to enjoy the main event at Grand Prix Bochum.  But for those that want to play in something slightly smaller we have a great offer for you.

At Grand Prix Bochum we are trying to make sure that everyone has an event especially for them. Standard to Vintage, Casual to Competitive.  There is something for you.  Check out the details below and remember to look at some of the special activities that we will be running such as the Rich Hagon Game Show, the lucky dip events or the artists that will be attending.

What are the Lucky Dip Events?

Some events give out their top prizes as Lucky Dip Chances.  Each time you win a lucky dip chance you get to randomly choose a prize packet from our lucky dip box.  Inside the packets you might find dual lands, a Force of Will or our top prize, a Mana Drain from Legends. This is in addition to the normal booster payout.

Fun Foil Friday for just €15

Yep, that’s right.  The cheapest Sealed Deck event on the 2012 Grand Prix Season.  This is your chance to win not only boosters but various cool foil promo cards.  And all for the bargain price of €15!!!  For that price, you can’t go wrong.
